Jaime Furman MD

Urologic Pathologist

I am a physician and surgical pathologist originally from Bogotá, Colombia. I completed my medical education at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and received my pathology training at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where I also completed a fellowship in surgical pathology. I later pursued a fellowship in urologic pathology at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

My academic career includes faculty positions at the University of Florida and the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, followed by a faculty role at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Currently, I work with Pathology Reference Laboratory (PRL) in San Antonio and serve as Director of the Urology San Antonio Pathology Laboratory.

I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Texas in San Antonio.

I have authored several publications in medical literature and contributed chapters to pathology textbooks. Medical education and learning are my passion, and I am committed to sharing knowledge through PUROPEDIA. I am deeply grateful to my teachers, colleagues, and students who have contributed to my professional growth and inspired me throughout my career.
